Last Breath by Rachel Caine

I wrote a quick mini review for Last Breath a few weeks ago but didn't get a chance to expand on it yet. I'm planning to write up a more detailed review this week, but for now, here's a sneak peek.

With her boss preoccupied researching the Founder Houses in Morganville, student Claire Danvers is left to her own devices when she learns that three vampires have vanished without a trace. She soon discovers that the last person seen with one of the missing vampires is someone new to town—a mysterious individual named Magnus. After an uneasy encounter with Morganville's latest resident, Claire is certain Magnus isn't merely human. But is he a vampire—or something else entirely?(from goodreads.com)

ADVANCE MINI REVIEW:

I've said before that The Morganville Vampires Series is my favourite YA series hands down. After 11 books the Morganville series is still going strong. Rachel Caine has built a complex world in Morganville with a large cast of characters ( and don't make the mistake of forgetting past trouble makers as they have a sneaky habit of popping up again later on.)
In the previous book, Bite Club rather than just Claire's point of view, we were given peeks into Shane's point of view for some of the chapters. Caine expands on this in Last Breath with chapters told from Michael, Eve, Shane and even Amelie's point of view.
Last Breath is really exciting. After 11 books something BIG needed to happen to keep the series fresh and something BIG happens (actually a couple of BIG somethings happen). Fans of Morganville will LOVE this book.
I'm not saying anything about the plot because you do not want any spoilers for this one. If you are a fan of the series this is one book you'll want to read sooner not later.
A strong book in a strong series!

If you haven't read The Morganville Vampires, it's worth going back to the first book and getting into this series. They are quick, fast-paced reads that keep you hooked. Most of the older books in the series are bundled into two-packs (The Morganville Vampires Vol. 1, Vol.2 etc.)

Happy Reading!
